The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DODMA) has advised Nsanje District officials to accommodate Mozambicans who are seeking refuge in the district.
A week ago Mozambique was hit by cyclone idai which destroyed properties and left a lot of people homeless.
The remarks were made by the Department’s Director of Relief and Recovery Harris Kachale.
Reports are indicating that a number of Mozambicans are stuck in Nsanje after they fled their home country following the devastating effects of Cyclone IDAI.
Cyclone Idai hit Malawi, Mozambique’s second largest city Beira, and some parts of Zimbabwe causing heavy damage to the three countries.
