Former Nigeria president Olusegun Obasanjo is set to attend the Presidential Debate tonight at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chairperson Theresa Ndanga has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
A taskforce led by Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) will this evening host the first Presidential debate at BICC in the capital Lilongwe where three Presidential candidates namely; Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Saulos Chilima of United Tranformation Movement (UTM) and Atupele Muluzi of United Democratic Front (UDF) will face off.
President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has shunned the debate, accusing the organisers of being biased.
Meanwhile analyst have trashed the stand taken by the ruling DPP.
