A 35-year-old Kabaza operator has committed suicide by hanging himself in Nsangu tree after failing to settle debts.
Umali Wilo was found hanging lifeless on the afternoon of March 30, 2019 by a group of women who went to fetch firewood in Mpima forest.
According to preliminary investigation, Umali had a lot of debts from different people who were exalting pressure on him to return the monies.
The Police visited the scene of incident and postmortem conducted at Mangochi district hospital revealed that death was due suffocation.
Following the incident, Police in the district has appealed to the public to seek other ways of solving their problems rather than terminating one’s life.
The deceased hailed from Mpambe village in the area of traditional authority Mlumbe in Zomba.
