Mzuzu University (Mzuni) students have called upon President Peter Mutharika who is also their Chancellor to take action on their institution which has no vice chancellor.
According to the students, Mzuni has not had a vice chancellor since 2017, which has resulted into deficiencies in the management of the school.
“The university is running its duties without a vice chancellor since 2017 which has caused a lot of challenges,” said one of the students.
The students further said that they have tried to engage relevant authorities to help them on the matter but their effort has proved to be futile.
Few weeks ago lectures at the university were on a go slow strike due to continuous salary delays.
According to the students this could have been avoided if the university had a vice chancellor.
The school does not have a registrar either.
