Suspected thief has died at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in the commercial capital Blantyre after being shot on the leg in Limbe.
The deceased suspect only identified as Wellos invaded the house of Seargent Andrew Chidzalimbo at Kanjedza police lines with an intention of stealing in the wee hours on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, says the police report.
“Facts are that the reporter heard a sound from his kitchen indicating that a criminal had entered into the kitchen parking kitchen uttensils while armed an official BXP rifle the reporter wokeup only to see the suspect picking the said kitchens wares.
“Then the suspect violently charged towards the reporter with an intention of grabbing the rifle and this prompted the reporter to release a bullet which landed on the left leg of the suspect inorder to disable him according to him,” reads in part the police report.
The suspect died at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital while receiving treatment.
