Sixty youths from Chikwawa district have graduated from catering, tailoring, and driving after undergoing free trainings offered by Malawi Congress Party aspirant Abida Mia.

Mia who is contesting in Chikwawa Nkombezi Constituency on Malawi Congress Party ticket detained a ceremony for the graduates at Ngabu post office ground.

Mia urged companies and other stakeholders to employ the students saying they are well trained and have police records which show that they are clean.

The aspirant who is also wife of Malawi Congress Party Vice president Sidik Mia added that if youths continue to obtain such trainings it will create more job opportunities to others.

“It is in MCP’s mandate to remember youths in its servant leadership. This is strategy for betterment of the country and reduce poverty,” Mia explained.

One of the students that attended the training Stanley Fungulani said the training has enabled him to secure a job and become independent.

Many youths that have been trained in catering, tailoring and driving had Malawi School Certificate Examination MSCE but didn’t proceed with their studies due to lack of tuition fee.

Most of the students that did catering are currently working in different restaurants while those that did driving have been promised licenses.

Mia has also promised to enroll 70 other students in her constituency to receive the same training. The students trained for almost 6 weeks.
