In a bid to support women who won 2014 elections, Oxfarm official went to Neno South on Saturday to call on people in the constituency to re-elect Mary Maulidi Khembo as their Member of Parliament.
Speaking at the event Women Program Rights Manager at Oxfarm Dr. Antony Malunga, said Khembo has facilitated developments in the area which has helped her to build a strong relationship with communities.
He further added that she (Khembo) has proven to be a visionary woman and for that she deserves another five years’ term.
“Khembo has proven to be a person with articulate vision and unquestionable credibility to deserve another five year’s term,” Malunga said.
Concurring with Malunga Traditional Authority (T/A) Mlauli, said Khembo has the welfare of the people at heart and she will do great if sent back to parliament.
“We believe that supporting Khembo is in the best interest of Neno south communities,” he said.
Senior chief Symon said he will support Khembo in ensuring that she does not lose her parliamentary sit in the forthcoming polls.
In her remarks, Khembo commended the chiefs and communities for supporting her candidacy and she promised to bring more developments if voted into power in May 21 polls.
