A South African white missionary, Paul Francois, hit to death a Malawian national in a road accident on Monday evening in Chikwawa District.

Francois, a missionary under One Life Church, hit 25-year-old Limbani Ganizani, an employee at National Registration Bureau Chikwawa office.

The incident occurred around 19:00 hours at Area 5 Illovo Sugar compound area along Chikwawa-Nchalo road.

The 65-year-old missionary was in the company of 8 other missionary friends and were heading to Nchalo for prayers.

On arrival at Area 5 junction, Francois reportedly failed to flash a dim light to an oncoming motorcyclist, Collins Salagi, who had a pillion passenger, Ganizani.

Salagi instantly collided with a towed trailer resulting into the death of his passenger Ganizani.

He had died of severe head injuries while Salagi sustained a deeply fractured leg.

The motorcycle, MG 295 Honda XL, got extensively damaged while the trailer, NP 211-410, was dented on its side.

Ganizani came from Kambanizithe Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiseka in Lilongwe District.

His death comes barely a few hours after a pedal cylist Sparrow Namizinga died in another accident at Maseya Trading Centre.
