The High Court has struck off Dr. Cassim Chilumpha from the presidential race following an appeal from Tikonze People’s Movement.
The court heard complaints from Tikonze coalition members that Chilumpha did not follow right procedures when he presented his nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).
The development means the number of candidates contesting for the forthcoming May 21 tripartite election has dropped to 7.
