A 45-year-old man in Karonga has committed suicide by hanging following the death of his son who also committed suicide by hanging.
The deceased has been identified as Raphael Sichinga who hailed from Mkwinda village in the area of traditional authority Kyungu in Karonga.
According to reports, on April 01, the deceased’ son identified as Chindikani Sichinga committed suicide and after the burial his father (Raphael) left to unknown destination.
Relatives conducted a search until on April 13th when they found him hanging dead to a tree and in a decomposed state.
Police and medical personnel visited the scene and took the body for a postmortem which revealed the cause of the death as strangulation secondary to suicide.
