Police in Limbe are keeping in custody a 33 year old man on suspicion that he took a hand in the death of his wife in Bangwe in Blantyre.

Limbe police station public relations officer, Patrick Mussa says Medias Enock is suspected to have killed his wife, Janet Chimbira by forcing the wall of their house to fall on her.

“The body was taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital by the detectives, where an Autopsy revealed that she died due to head injuries as a result of assault by a sharp object.

“Police detectives based at Bangwe police, continued with their investigations which has now resulted in the apprehension of the suspect,” said the PRO.

Mussa said he was arrested at Bembeke Trading Centre in Dedza where he has been hiding.

Upon been interviewed, he admitted to have killed his wife after a misunderstanding which arose after the sales of tomatoes which they harvested.

He has since been charged with ‘ murder’ and will appear in court soon.

The suspect hails from Mawuwe village in the area of Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in Dedza while the deceased was from Chilambe village, Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre.
