Blantyre City Central Ward Shadow Councilor Golden Butaoh  for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)  has asked Malawians to vote for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika if they want development to continue in the country.

Butaoh made the remarks on Sunday during the finals of a two weeks Bonanza held at Nancholi Community ground in the commercial capital Blantyre graced by Shadow MP for Blantyre City West Constituency Thom Gowelo.

In his speech, Butaoh said President Mutharika has laid down a number of development projects across the country and for the projects to be fulfilled Malawians have to vote for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in the forthcoming polls.

He also urged Malawians to ignore remarks being made by opposition political parties trashing the DPP government describing them as disgruntled politicians who have nothing to offer to Malawians.

Coming to the bonanza, Butaoh said the competition was organized to keep the youths in the Ward busy thereby preventing them from indulging in immoral behaviours such as premarital sex which can result in early pregnancies.

He then urged people in the Ward to vote for him in the forthcoming May 21 polls, saying he will develop the ward which has been neglected for some time now.

Butaoh also promised to renovate Nancholi Community ground once elected, saying sports is one of the activities that brings people of different affiliations together.

On his part, Shadow MP for Blantyre City West Constituency Thom Gowelo hailed the teams who took part in the bonanza for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner.

He then promised to bring more development in the constituency once elected.
