Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) running mate Everton Chimulirenji has said he is confident of becoming the next vice president of the country.
Chimulirenji said the remarks during his official campaign launch at Chikapa ground in Ntcheu.
He added that he will continue working to undertake development initiatives that are aiming at transforming communities and improving living standards of people in the country.
Chimulirenji further added that for all this to happen there is need for people to re-elect the incumbent President Peter Mutharika in the forthcoming May 21 elections.
However, the DPP running mate who is also seeking a third term for the parliamentary seat in Ntcheu North East constituency, is expected to compete with other five aspirants contesting in the area.
