Opposition Umodzi Party (UP) is optimistic to do well in May tripartite elections according to the way things are on the ground.
Matias Mleto Mbukwa National Campaign Director said everything is good on the ground as of now.
“About sixty to seventy percent of Malawians needs the party because of its sounding policies and visionary leadership,” he said.
He also said the recent presidential debates has increased popularity of the party because many people said out the eight presidential candidates Professor John Chisi who is the party’s president was the one who inspired many listeners and views according to the way he was responding to the questions.
Mbukwa further said the party’s manifesto has attracted many people because it addresses all the challenges that Malawians are facing currently.
“The other issue that has attracted many people is the issue to do with agriculture which states that there shall be three factories in each and every district, this provides an opportunity for employment, development and income generation for the rural households,” he said.
He has since asked all independent Members of Parliament (MPs) and ward councilors to work with the party to form a new government come May 2019.
