A standard 5 boy at Nyambadwe Primary Schools has committed suicide by hanging himself in his bedroom.
Ndirande Police Sub-Station Public Relation Officer, Inspector Edna Mzingwitsa said the incident occurred on April 14, 2019 at Makata area in Ndirande Township.
“The deceased parents were shocked to find their son hanging from his bedroom roof; they reported the matter to police who visited the scene.
“The body was taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where postmortem conducted revealed that death was due to strangulation,” said Mzingwitsa.
Meanwhile investigations have been instituted to find out what prompted the boy to take away his own life because he did not leave a suicide note
Police is appealing to parents and guardians to closely observe their children as sometimes they may be going through situations requiring their intervention as parents to avoid such incidences.
