Authorities in Chikwawa have expressed worry over increased cases of child prostitution in the district.
The worry came following the arrest of 5 girls who were caught moving around Dyeratu Trading center at night.
Chikwawa Social Welfare officer Rosemary Mahata said the girls aged between 12 and 15 were stormed at the trading center on Tuesday night.
She added that the girls run away from their homes and rented a house as they needed freedom to do their business.
Meanwhile the girls have been released after being provided with counselling.
Mahata said the development is rising due to lack of parental guidance.
