Eight Kenyans have been killed in road carnage at Ol Donyo Sambu, Namanga Road in Arusha while participating in a high-speed car race event.

TUKO.co.ke understands the victims were heading to much anticipated racing event dubbed Arusha Drive 3.0.

According to Global Publishers, bypassers and spectators standing at the roadside were injured in the gory accident on Sunday, April 21.

It is understood two cars taking part in the race collided then rammed into unsuspecting spectators.

Kajiado Deputy County Commissioner Wambugu confirmed the incident but said details are still scanty.

Social media was awash with disturbing images of the mangled cars and Good Samaritans struggling to save the victims.

The vehicles were completely destroyed and business in the area came to a standstill.
