Health and medical workers in Ntcheu district have expressed worries over inadequate of ambulances.

A source under anonymity condition said the district has six ambulances of which three are grounded due to break downs.

The sources further added that the condition is hindering health services delivery in the district.

“We have six ambulances at the district health office but three are grounded due to break downs, the situation is very pathetic,” said the source.

Commenting on the matter District Commissioner for Ntcheu Smart Gwedemula said there is no need to worry as the three ambulances will soon be back on the road.

Ministry of Health spokesperson Joshua Malango said the government will buy 100 ambulances and some will be given to Ntcheu.

Despite such challenges in the health sector, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is using Ambulances to carry supporters to its campaign rallies.

DPP is well know of carrying people from different places to their political rallies.
