President Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli has today left Malawi for Tanzania after officially presiding over the opening of the 2019 Tobacco Selling Season at Kanengo Auction Floors in the capital Liongwe.

Magufuli was in the country for two days state visit and he arrived in the country on Wednesday morning through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe.

He was welcomed by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and his wife Gertrude. Upon arrival he proceeded to Parliament Building to lay a wreath on late Bingu wa Mutharika’ statue.

Later, Magufuli and Mutharika had bilateral Talks which were centered on trade, Infrastructure development, transportation, sports and culture.

In the evening of Wednesday, Mutharika treated Magufuli to a state banquet at Kamuzu Palace.

Meanwhile Magufuli has hailed Mutharika lining up a number of development projects during his tenure of office.
