Suspected Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth cadets have vandalized a billboard of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in Blantyre, faceofmalawi can reveal.
The development comes barely a week after unknown thugs in Mzuzu also vandalized President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s billboard and the police are yet to arrest the suspects.
Chakwera’s billboard was erected at Kwacha roundabout close to Robins Park in the commercial capital Blantyre.
The billboard is believed to have been vandalized by DPP youth cadets on the wee hours of Thursday.
In a related development, suspected DPP youth cadets have uprooted flags for the United Transformation Movement (UTM), United Democratic Front and MCP in Limbe market.
The cadets have also destroyed benches for all opposition political parties in Limbe. The incident happened last night, according to an eyewitness.
Meanwhile MCP officials are yet to comment on the matter.
