One of the leading training institutions in the country, Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) is scheduled to start offering degree program from 2019.

MIJ Executive Director Anthony Phanga disclosed this today the graduation ceremony of 447 students at Comesa Hall in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Phanga said the degree programme will start in July this year.

He then urged the graduating students to adopt the elements of true journalism.

Director of Information in the Ministry of Information Gedion Munthali represented Minister of Information Henry Mussa who was invited as guest of honour.

Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) was established in 1995 and it was set to improve the quality of journalism in Malawi, by promoting media independence and professionalism.

The Institution has three campuses namely; Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu.
