The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internal Cooperation has announced the postponement of the proposed visit to Malawi by President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa.

This has been disclosed in a statement released on Thursday April 25, 2019 signed by Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made available to faceofmalawi reporter.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wishes to inform the general public that the proposed State Visit to Malawi by President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa has been postponed until further notice,” reads in part the statement.

Mnangagwa was scheduled to visit the country from 28th to 29th April 2019.

On Wednesday, President of the Republic of Tanzania John Pombe Joseph Magufuli visited the country and was welcomed by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

While in the country, Magufuli laid a wreath at late Bingu wa Mutharika’s statue at Parliament building in the capital Lilongwe.

Magufuli also presided over the official opening of the 2019 Tobacco Selling season at Kanengo Auction Floors were he called on buyers to offer good prices to farmers.
