There was drama early yesterday after a family failed to agree where to bury a deceased family member who died after drowning in River.

The incident took place in Zambia’s capital of Lusaka where Mr Benjamin Mwale, 25, drowned on April, 27, 2019 at about 11: 00 hours at Tubalange Dam in Lusaka West.

This happened after he had gone to swim in the company of two other friends whilst attending a Zion
Church International camp meeting which began on April 22 to April 28, 2019.

The body was retrieved with the help of the public on April 29, 2019 at around 09:30 hours and was deposited to a local Hospital’s mortuary.

But yesterday, drama started after the family failed to agree where the deceased was to be buried.

According to a witnesses, a former police reserve only identified as Mandevu, the uncle of the deceased caused commotion after he allegedly refused to have his nephew buried in Lusaka.

All hell broke loose after the family from the deceased mother’s side refused to have the body repatriated to Monze area where Mr. Mandevu wanted to have his nephew buried.

The body was abandoned on the road in Chawama area for seven hours after the family failed to agree the way forward.
