Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has called on Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) to arrest Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) spokesperson Nicholas Dausi who is also the Minister of Homeland Security.
The call has made through Director of Elections Moses Kunkuyu, following revelations made by United Transformation Movement (UTM) president Saulos Chilima.
Chilima made the remarks in Chitipa during his campaign whistle stops where he said Dausi led the team that set MEC warehouse on fire.
“We are not surprised because it is the same DPP led by Nicholas Dausi that set MEC warehouse on fire in 2014,” he said.
When speaking to the press, Kunkuyu said the revelations made by Chilima must be looked at with a keen eye.
He further added that Chilima’s claims can be the evidence that 2014 election results were fraudulent.
Kunkuyu further has given Chilima a seven day ultimatum to give Malawians a detailed report.
