Umodzi Party shadow Member of Parliament for Chiradzulu Central constituency Donata Kamwendo says he is ready to bring development in the area if elected as MP in the coming tripartite elections.
Kamwendo was speaking during political rally meetings which she jointly addressed with the party’s president Professor John Chisi in the constituency.
She said people of the constituency have suffered a lot and time has come for them to vote wisely for development to flourish in the constituency.
“We have been cheated for so long, we have no health Centre, people of this area use Chiradzulu Hospital to seek medical services,” she said.
She said that she will ensure that there should be a health Centre in the area if elected as MP in the coming tripartite elections because people of the constituency travel long distance to seek health services at Chradzulu District Hospital.
“There are no schools in the constituency, we only have Nguludi secondary school and l will build a girls hostel at Nguludi as one way of reducing early pregnancies among girls,” she said.
Kamwendo also said that she will ensure that people have access to safe drinking water because people are drinking water from unprotected wells which poses as a threat to their lives.
She further said that she will work with chiefs because they stay with the people and are the ones who know better the needs of the area.
“There are no good roads and bridges in the area and this will be one of my priorities if elected as MP.
“If you need development vote for me and you should not be overtaken by handouts but look at the characters of the person and what he or she can offer to you,” she said.
Also speaking during the whistle stop tour was Samuel Maloya who is contesting as a ward councilor for UP in the area. He said time has come to vote wisely and choose people that have vision to develop the area.
He asked people to vote for Professor John Chisi and UP candidates to solve the challenges they are facing.
