Malawi’s ex-diplomat to Japan, Dr John Chikago has urged people to vote for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and its President Professor Peter Mutharika in the May 21 tripartite elections for a continuity of development.
According to Chikago, for the last five years the DPP led government has showed its willingness to develop the country by constructing road networks, improving in agricultural sector and also in tourism among other areas.
“Malawi has developed in the past five years under the leadership of President Peter Mutharika and his DPP led government. Therefore I urge you to vote for the DPP government for a continuity in development,” Chikago told a political gathering in Ntcheu over the weekend.
Among the attendance was DPP shadow legislator for Ntcheu Centre Constituency, Mphatso Mjojo whom the ex-diplomat persuaded the people of the constituency to vote for.
During his time of addressing the people, Mjojo said he is the greatest enemy of under-development and for that reason he will make sure to change the face of the area if the people give him votes in the impending elections.
“I will make sure to find ways of eliminating child marriages in the area and improve other things in health, education just to mention a few,” he said.
DPP Regional Secretary for the East, Weston Kamphodza Ngozo also attended the political gathering and told people that opposition parties have no clue of running the government.
