A prayer breakfast for presidential aspirants ahead of May 21 tripartite elections is expected to take place this Thursday at statehouse in Lilongwe.
The prayers are expected to host President Peter Mutharika, vice President Saulos Chilima, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leader Lazarus Chakwera and Atupele Muluzi of United Democratic Front (UDF).
The breakfast prayers are aimed at promoting peaceful co-existed in the run up May 21elections.
The prayers have been organized by different Pentecostal churches in the country, namely; Calvary Family Church (CFC), Pentecostal Revival Crusades (PRC), Agape Life Church, Charismatic Redeemed Ministries International (CRMI), Living Waters Church (LWC) and Assemblies of God.
In his remarks, the moderator of the prayer breakfast, Apostle Madalitso Mbewe, who is also the founder of Calvary Family Church said the presidential candidates will also be made to sign a document to signify their commitment to peace.
Public Affairs Committee (PAC) held a similar event last Saturday where Mutharika shun the prayers.
