As one way of drumming up support for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and its running mate, ‘Friends of Chimulirenji’ political grouping has embarked on mass campaign rallies in Ntcheu.
Former Social Democratic Party (SDP) president Elson Kakhome said the motive of the political grouping is to ensure that people of Ntcheu are not deceived by opposition candidates whom he said they have no development agenda.
“As you know we will be going to polls soon, we would like to ask people of Ntcheu to vote wisely by voting for DPP candidates,” he said.
He added that people of Ntcheu have witnessed a number of developments that DPP has implemented in the district.
“DPP government has done a lot of for Malawi in terms development and we would like to continue for the next five years so that the country is transformed,” he said.
On his part, former Malawian diplomat to Japan Dr. John Chikago commended government for transforming Ntcheu with massive developments.
He added that Ntcheu people were thankful to government for choosing Everton Chimulirenji as the party’s running mate.
He added that Friends of Chimulirenji will be conducting mass rallies across the district to drum up support for DPP. t��.sR
