Center for development Communication (CDC) has called on people of Phalombe district to turn up and cast their votes on May 21.
District Facilitator for CDC Andrew Banda made the call on Sunday at Migowi primary school ground during the beaming of a cinema aimed at wooing prospective voters to cast their vote in the election.
According to Banda the cinemas also carried messages bemoaning violence during elections.
“We want people especially youths in the areas to avoid being used in provoking or inducing violence during this campaign period, rather they should peacemakers” said Banda.
During the cinema, Banda further reminded voters on how they can vote perfectly in order to beat null and void votes.
“We are also telling them things that they would not supposed to do during this day 21 may that they should avoid putting party clothes , they should not take any alcoholic and drug substances” Banda added.
Speaking after watching the the cinema Gift Sawerengera of Ganeti Village from senior Traditional Authority Kaduya, the coming of the cinema has taught him a lot since there are alot of lies that people are saying the remote areas.
“We are now safe and happy that our votes will be counted since we had un answered questions but coming of this organisation and other Mec officials has given as guidance on how to vote perfect,” said Sawerengera.
Centre for Development and Communication has received funding from malawi electrol Commission to do community cinema and dialogue in all the district in the country.
