Musician Wendy Harawa has won Supplication Song Award at this year’s Maranatha Global Worship Music Awards in Kenya.

“Chisomo,” a song she collaborated with Malawi’s celebrated Lulu and gifted Nigerian gospel artist Jimmy D Psalmist crystallized the veteran musician at the Gala on Sunday.

Harawa confirmed of the development in a statement posted on her official facebook page seen by faceofmalawi reporter.

“We did it, I am bringing the award home. First I would like to give all the glory to God the father all Mighty for the gift of life and taking me this far and for choosing me. Father you are God. My Mother Olive Harawa, there is no me without you thank you.

“My spiritual parents Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and Prophetess Mary Bushiri, Mummy and Daddy thank you for introducing me to Jesus and here I am we did it, Daddy you sent me.. Jimmy d psalmist thank you for Chisomo. Most importantly thank you to everyone who voted I Couldn’t have done it without you. May God Bless you all. Malawi has won an award,” wrote Hawara.

Wendy was nominated in two categories; Outstanding Petition/Supplication song of excellence and Outstanding Collaboration Song of Excellence.

This is the first time she has scooped an international award since joining gospel music.
