Suspected youth cadets for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have once again destroyed a billboard bearing the face of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in the commercial capital Blantyre.
The development comes barley a day after MCP supporters in Nsanje assaulted DPP youth cadet for uprooting MCP flags ahead of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s visit to lower shire.
The billboard was elected at Kwacha roundabout in the commercial capital Blantyre. Two weeks ago DPP youth cadets vandalized the billboard and it was later replaced and the cadet have once again destroyed it.
The billboard was not this morning by people who were rushing to work.
Effort to talk to MCP Spokesperson Reverend Maurice Munthali on the matter proved futile.
Malawi will hold its second tripartite election next week Tuesday where three parties namely: MCP of Chakwera, Peter Mutharika of DPP and United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima are favoured to win.
