Suspected DPP Supporter arrested for Campaigning on Polling Day

A suspected Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) follower has been arrested in Ntcheu Bwanje North Constituency for allegedly enticing people to vote for the party’s candidate in the area.

According to the reports, the suspect was dishing out money to electorates at the polling center.

Constituency Returning Officer, Alexis Joabe said the suspect is currently under police custody.

Ntcheu Police Station Spokesperson Hastings Chigalu says is he aware of the arrest but has asked for more time to comment on the matter.

The incident happened at Kasinje Primary school.
