There is a high tension in Mzuzu at St Augustine polling center as Mzuzu University students are being denied access to cast their votes at the said center.
Since morning, the students that did not get voting transfers, have been pushing to vote at the center because they cannot afford to cast their votes at different centers where they registered over distance matters.
Addressing matters of this kind earlier today, the MEC Chairperson Justice Jane Ansah said university students can go ahead and cast their votes at any polling center provided if they produce a valid voters ID.
The MEC presiding officer at the said center, Mrs Rose Mandala argues that the center can only accommodate 20 students as there will be limited ballot papers to cater for all.
Meanwhile, the authorities have been called to provide a possible solution to the matter.
