As Malawians across the country are anxiously waiting for the results of the Tuesday’s tripartite election, NBS Bank has this afternoon ordered early closure of all its outlets across the country.

The development is due to tension that has locked the country over who has carried the day between President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Currently MCP supporters in the capital Lilongwe are celebrating that its candidate has won the polls.

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah has failed to release the outcomes of the polls today due complaints raised political parties.

Meanwhile it is not known as to when the result of the polls will be out.
