Nsanje Constituency Returning Officer has been charged of being in possession of voters materials, as Democratic Progressive Party gurus stormed Nsanje Police.
On Thursday, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters led by its official Abida Mia apprehended Fred Nine Thomas for allegedly tampering with the results of Nsanje Central.
“MCP members had information that the suspect was forging the result figures and when searched, he was found with MEC materials such as presidential, parliamentary and councillor result sheets,” police said.
MCP candidate for the area Kafanikhale Mandevana has written Malawi Electoral Commission to nullified the results.
The suspect hails from Baibulo village in chief Malemia’s area in Nsanje and works as a primary education advisor in the office of the district education manager.
