Security officials in Zomba have detained a driver of a lorry carrying ballot boxes which were transferred from Mangochi going to Mec’s headquarters in Blantyre.
The lorry, registration number TPE 2102, cqaa carrying 100 ballot boxes filled with ballot papers.
According to an eyewitness, the driver travelled without inspection from police on his way from Mangochi to Blantyre.
However, our investigations revealed that after being questioned the driver is said to have told the police that he stopped at Kambaule village (Near 3 miles) in Zomba [Where he says is his home Village] to see his relatives.
Meanwhile, Police are yet to comment on the matter.
