Inspector General of Police Rodney Jose has warned Abida Mia a wife to Malawi Congress Party vice President Sidiki Mia to stop erecting roadblocks in her constituency.

“No member of the general public has powers to erect roadblocks anywhere. It is only the Malawi police who erect roadblocks for special purposes,” said Jose.

Jose continued saying that Abida Mia could be arrested if she continues to take the law into her hands.

“She should stop this otherwise we are going to take action,” threatened Jose.

Meanwhile, Malawi police has said at least 34 people have been arrested over political violence in the central region.
