The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) has confirmed that eligible voters who were in evacuation camps by May 21st managed to vote in the respective centres where they registered.
There was concern about the welfare of displaced people in as far as exercising their right to vote in the recently held tripartite polls is concerned.
Among the people who were affected by the floods were some who lost their identification cards as well voter registration cards hence the fears of their inclusion in the voting process. An official from the department has however told capital FM that most of them left campsites and were able to vote in the centers where they voted.
