Police in Mangochi have recovered stolen goods following the arrest of two men who were apprehended on May 30.
Mangochi police Deputy public relations offficer Sub lnspector Amina Tepani Daudi identifid the culprits as Francis Notice(24) and Shadrek Daniel(25) who were arrested within Mangochi township by the Police detectives through a call log follow-up.
Daudi said on the night of May 28, 2019 the second suspect who is a taxi bicycle operator(kabaza) broke into Janet Chatsika(24) – a primary school teacher’s house at Saiti kadzuwa.
The suspect went away with assorted of goods including two DVD players, TV screen, Zuku decorder and Home theater.
Further investigations have uncovered that on May 24, 2019 the first suspect who works as a watchman connived with the second suspect and broke into Ishmael lbrahim’s shop within Mangochi township using dangerous weapons.
The two went away with assorted properties among others 2 TV screens, Plasma, 2 HP laptops, 2 mattresses, bicycle, 2 Samsung Galaxy S5 phones and K405,000 cash, all stolen items worthy K1.8 million.
After conducting search in their houses the Police found some of the stolen properties and dangerous weapons such as small axes, panga knives and metal bars which are believed to have been used by the breakers during their operations.
The suspects will appear before court to answer charges relating to bulglary and house breaking.
Francis Notice hails from Village Mgundaphiri while Shadreck Daniel hails from Village Saiti kadzuwa both in the area of traditional authority Mponda in Mangochi.
