Speaking in an interview, Phekani said during the campaign period she promised some developments like drilling kiosks so that people should stop from drinking water from wells.

“I promised people in the area that once ushered into power I will bring more development like road network infrastructure, bring portable water and MASAF programme will be chaired by political leaders not chiefs as it was before so that all people should benefit,” she said.

Phekani further said she will put a tarmac at Zingwangwa health Centre road so that vehicles carrying patients should not find challenges when passing to the health Centre.

“I also assured people that I will work with incumbent Parliamentarian for Blantyre City South Noel Lipipa to develop Soche West Ward and we are already in good terms,” she said.

She therefore thanked the voters for ushering her into power and promised not to betray them during her tenature.
