Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters together with People’s Party (PP) supporters are holding a peaceful protest against the outcome of the May 21 tripartite elections.

The protest started from MCP headquarters to Parliament and Capital Hill.
According to information at hand, the supporters are currently at Capital Hill entry where they are being denied to enter by heavily armed police officers.

The supporters have carried several placards with different messages relating to the May 21 tripartite election.
On Friday last week MCP President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera openly rejected the May 21 poll results which saw President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika being declared winner.
Chakwera said the polls were rigged by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and is now seeking nullification of the results.
