Newly elected Members of Parliament have been asked to declare their assets within 3 months after taking oath of office.
Deputy Director in the office of the Directorate of Assets’ Declaration, Michael Chiusiwa said this today at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) during a five-day orientation of legislators in Lilongwe.
The MPs have been on orientation starting from Monday in redness of the official opening of the 2019/20 budget sitting next week.
The MPs will be sworn-in next week and the ceremony will be presided over by Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda S.C.
The ceremony will be followed by the election of Speaker and Deputy Speakers on the National Assembly.
