Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters and officials including party president Lazarus Chakwera and his vice Sidik Mia are now at the High Court premises in Lilongwe.

Chakwera led MCP supporters in a peaceful march from Mbowe Service Station to the High Court in the capital Lilongwe.

Freedom Party (FP) President Khumbo Hastings Kachali who is also former Vice President took part in the peaceful protest.

The court is scheduled to decide on preliminary applications in the elections case where MCP and United Transformation Movement (UTM) party led by its President Dr. Saulos Chilima are seeking nullification of the May 21 polls.

The two political parties are accusing the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of rigging the May 21 polls which saw President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika being declared winner.
