Nselema Police in Machinga district is keeping in custody a 20 year old Jasiya Laimoni “a person born with Albinism” for allegedly defiling his 8 year old cousin which is contrary to section 138 of the Penal code.
Both the victim and the suspect were staying together alongside the grandmother to the victim.
And on 17th June, 2019, the victim’s grandmother left for Mowele village leaving the two alone in the house.
The suspect took advantage of that and entered the victim’s room where he covered her mouth for her not to shout for help; and he had forced sexual intercourse until he injured the victim on her private part.
The matter was reported to Chikweo Police Unit where the victim was issued a medical report form for medical examination and treatment.
Results from Chikweo Health centre proved that the girl was indeed defiled.
Meanwhile, the suspect is in custody pending court proceedings
