Mutharika Excludes Chaponda in new Cabinet

Former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda has not been drafted in the new cabinet.
Chaponda who once saved as the leader of government in parliament will now be a backbencher in the house.
Chaponda who was involved in the Agricultural Development and Market Corporation (ADMARC) Maizegate scandal, was later acquitted by the court following the allegations.
President Peter Mutharika announced cabinet members on June 19, 2019.
