Opposition Members of Parliament have worked out the August House to protest President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s State of the National Address (SONA).

The MPs especially from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) says they cannot listen to Mutharika because he is an illegitimate leader.

MCP secretary general Eisenhower Mkaka told the media that they cannot listen to Mutharika because he is an illegitimate leader.

“We are hear to pass the provisional budget and not to listen to Mutharika. We do not recognize him,” he said.

The development comes barely hours after the national wide protest by concerned Malawians who are against the outcome of the May 21 tripartite election.
