President Peter Mutharika is being challenged to expedite the process of appointing Commissioners for the Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC).
This comes after two people nominated for the appointment of MHRC Commissioners, Patrick Semphere and Chikondi Chijozi were replaced by Mutharika.
The President instead took in Baldwin Chiyamwaka, a media consultant who previously served in the commission, and Cecilia Kotima whose name was not nominated by any organisation as demanded by law.
Mutharika was queried for appointing the two individuals whose names were not submitted to him for consideration.
