National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) has established a consultative platform for stakeholders to be brainstorming ways of developing the construction industry.
The move is also aimed at facilitating effective regulation of the sector.
The first construction sector joint consultative group meeting was held in Lilongwe on Monday under the theme ‘Excellence through Collaboration in Construction’.
Transport and Public Works Minister, Ralph Jooma, said there was a misunderstanding among players on their roles and responsibilities, hence the move.
“There might have been other gatherings before but, perhaps, they were not accommodating every stakeholder so that they could be confronted and given a chance to explain themselves.
