Late Leonard Mangulama, former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development under the reign of former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi, will be laid to rest on Wednesday in Chingale, Zomba.

Mangulama died of diabetes on Monday at Mwaiwathu Hospital in the commercial capital Blantyre, according to his daughter Angela Mangulama Kachenga.

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has since ordered that the funeral of Mangulama be accorded a full military honour.

This is according to the statement from the office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) released on Tuesday signed by Chief Secretary Lloyd Muhara made available to faceofmalawi reporter.

According to Muhara, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Bright Msaka will represent President Mutharika at the funeral.

At the time of his death, Mangulama was working as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at Catholic University.

Mangulama was born on January 17 1959.
