“I feel extremely honoured to be appointed cabinet minister,” he said while promising another Thank You rally in the area to appreciate Zomba Chisi constituents trust in his parliamentary leadership.

He said the president chose him into cabinet after people in Chisi area gave him another chance to represent them in parliament.

Botomani therefore assured the people in Zomba Chisi that he would continue with DPP development agenda which is meant to improve people’s livelihood.

He is among a 24 member cabinet which Professor Mutharika chose on June 19 before opening the first parliamentary session after the tripartite elections which saw the DPP back to power.

Group Village Head Chingondo said he was happy to see Botomani retaining his parliamentary seat adding that this was a clear testimony that people in Zomba Chisi have trust in him and are also expecting a lot of development projects in his constituency.

“We want electricity all over this constituency; we want boreholes and good roads in this area,” Group Head Chingondo said.

Botomani won Zomba Chisi parliamentary seat through a by-election in 2015 following the death of Chizalo Mangulenje who won Zomba Chisi parliamentary seat in 2014 on DPP ticket.
